AVNER SHACHAM President & CEO
Avner Shacham was born in 1952 in Tel Aviv, Israel.
He has been President and CEO of Bet Shemesh Engines Ltd. since 1992.
Upon his appointment as BSEL’s President, he entered a government-owned facility that had suffered many years of losses, causing frustration to shareholders (60% Government of Israel, 40% Pratt & Whitney). In three years he succeeded in turning the company into a world class, profitable organization. The company moved from a 6 million dollar operational loss in 1992 to a 3 million dollar operational profit in 1998.
Mr. Shacham previously served as a Vice President Manufacturing, and General Manager of CMP (a US company manufacturing various engine parts – 1988-1991).
From 1980 to 1988 he was a production engineer, production analyst and production manager at Cyclone Aviation. In 1984 he was appointed General Manager of Carcom, a Cyclone subsidiary, assuming responsibility for the establishment of a new composite material facility for aircraft parts, and directing the process of design, manufacture and transfer of information technology from Lockheed and Boeing.
Mr. Shacham holds a Masters degree in Engineering and Industrial Management from the Technion (Israel Institute of Technology) and a Bachelors degree in Production Engineering.
He graduated from Israel's Officers Academy and is a Lieutenant Colonel (Res.) of the Israel Defense Forces.
